Making America a Safer Place

Sarah and Jim Brady SocietyFor many years, long before he became a White House press secretary, Jim Brady was affectionately known as "The Bear," due to his lovable manner. Thanks to Jim and Sarah and their heroic struggle against adversity, since the assassination attempt on President Reagan's life, "The Bear" has come to symbolize the growing strength and size of the entire gun violence prevention movement.

The Brady Society recognizes individuals who have decided to include the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in their wills. Society members are united by their passion to create a safer America for generations to come.

Jim and Sarah symbolize the courage and vision that has carried our movement this far. You, too, can leave a legacy for a safer, saner America by joining the Sarah and Jim Brady Society.

In order to make a bequest to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, you must have a will.

Some of the ways in which you may remember the Brady Center in your will are:

  • Specify a dollar amount or a percentage of the residue of your estate.

  • List specific assets, such as stocks, bonds, or real estate, to be designated as a gift.

Below is sample language you may use to make a bequest to the Brady Center:
